  • Select two drivers, two chassis and two engines from the list and stay within your allocated budget. Any unused money will be added to your car development budget
  • Name your team and manager and you will be automatically entered into the league

  • Creating a mini-league

A mini-league is a great way to challenge friends and family over the course of an F1 season.

  • Create your team
  • Login to the site using your email address and password
  • To create your F1 mini-league click on "Create Mini League" in the menu
  • Give your league a name and choose a password. If you are giving away a prize, enter the prize the mini league winner will receive and who is supplying the prize.
  • Invite others to join you in your mini-league

  • Scoring

  • Point scores are based on the published results from the FIA World Championship
  • Points are scored for the first 12 places for drivers, chassis and engines. Points are also scored for driver qualifying positions

  • Point Gains
  • Driver point scoring for qualifying: 14 points for qualifying in P1, 12 for P2, 10 for P3, 9 for P4, 8 for P5 etc down to 1 point for P12. Engines and chassis do not score for qualifying
  • Driver point scoring for the race: 14 points for finshing in P1, 12 for P2, 10 for P3, 9 for P4, 8 for P5 etc down to 1 point for P12
  • Chassis point scoring for the race: 14 points for finshing in P1, 12 for P2, 10 for P3, 8 for P4, 6 for P5, 4 for P6 and 2 for P8
  • Engine point scoring for the race: 14 points for finshing in P1, 12 for P2, 10 for P3, 8 for P4, 6 for P5, 4 for P6 and 2 for P8
  • Drivers are awarded an additional 1 point for each place they gain from their qualifying position provided they are classed as completing the race
  • Where a team has chosen the same engine or chassis to drive both their cars, the highest result will count for both assets
    Point Losses
  • There are no point losses

  • Development

  • You are able to develop your car throughout the season and increase its' performance
  • Each race will see your sponsors pay you an amount of money. How much you are paid will vary
  • You are able to develop four areas of your cars, Engine, Chassis, Aerodynamics and the Drivetrain
  • Each development area has a different cost
  • Each development area has a different effect on your cars
  • Spending most money may not neccessarily give you most benefit. As in the real world, some development work you do will result in better results than others
  • Your development budget is also used for transferring drivers or changing assets within your team (see "Transfers and Changes" below)
    Developing Your Cars
  • Go to the My Team page
  • Select the area of your cars you would like to develop by clicking one of the buttons
  • Development is carried out and the cost deducted from your budget
  • If you still have money left over you may develop your cars further until your budget is exhausted
  • You may save your budget between races for larger purchases

  • Transfers and Changes

  • During the course of the season you are able to change various assets within your team
  • You may transfer drivers in and out of your team and change both engines and chassis
  • You are only limited by the amount of money in your development budget and the race number
  • Transfers and changes can only take place after races 5, 9 and 14 are complete. These transfer/change "windows" are only available until the next race. You are unable to make transfers or changes at any other time
  • If you miss a transfer/change window you have to wait until the next transfer/change window becomes available
  • You may make as many transfers or changes as your budget allows
  • Points accrued by an asset you transfer or change into your team are not transferred with that asset e.g. Your current driver has scored 95 points so far in the season. A driver you wish to transfer in has scored 135 points so far. You transfer that driver into your team but the 135 points does not transfer with the driver. You keep the 95 points of the driver you transferred out but any future points the new driver earns will be added to your points score. The same rule applies to engines and chassis
  • You may not select the same driver twice when transferring. Drivers 1 and 2 need to be unique in your team
  • You may find that you never have sufficient funds to make a change or transfer. Your development budget is always stretched just as in the real world of F1. You must understand where your team is both strongest and weakest and arrange your finances to make the changes that will pay the highest points dividends. You may need to forgo developing your cars in order to have sufficient money to make major changes or you may need to develop the team you already have to get the most benefit from your budget. Only you can decide but this is what being a team boss is all about!
    Making transfers and changes
  • Go to the My Team page
  • Select the driver or asset you would like to change by clicking one of the buttons
  • The change or transfer is carried out and the cost deducted from your budget
  • If you still have money left over you may make any number of further changes/transfers until your budget is exhausted
  • If you do not have sufficient funds or the transfer/change window is not available, you will see a suitable message

  • General

  • A tie breaker is in use on this site. When you create a team, a random number is automatically generated for you and this number will be used to decide positions where teams are equally placed in the league.
  • You may sign up a new Fantasy F1 team even after the F1 season has started and races have taken place. Create your F1 team in the normal way and, once created, you will be assigned an average of all the points scored so far putting you in the middle of the Fantasy F1 league. After this it's up to you to make your way up (or down!) the league!
  • This site will change as the season unfolds. I will be making changes based upon what you, the players, tell me you would like. If you have a suggestion for how the site could be improved, use the email address below and let me know!
  • If a race result is amended through appeal or disqualification after this site has been updated, the original scores will stand
  • I reserve the right to change the rules and conditions of play at any time

    Privacy

  • I respect your right to privacy. This site does not collect any information about you other than your email address. I give my word that your address will be used only for the purposes of this site and not sold, given away or made available to anyone for any purpose - ever!
